Snow Day?
When I went outside to take these pictures, I heard some very happy shouts and laughs coming from the house on the hill--I have a hunch that Hartland Elementary had its first snow day of the season.
I used today's snow as an excuse to have a giant cup of hot chocolate.
these are gorgeous. i need to utilize a shallow depth of field more in my photography, i always love the result so much. also, snow. sigh. stupid california.
A note on the title: It is--for those who may be wondering--a selection from Coleridge's "Rime of the Ancient Mariner". These lines, however, are also apt descriptors of the current situation in rural Bangladesh, where the supply of well water is contaminated with toxic levels of naturally occurring arsenic. Moreover, standing water is also unsafe due to its inherent microbial content. Thus, water sources are ever-present, but few of these provide water that is safe for everyday consumption.
